The Antioxidant Benefits of Acai

The Antioxidant Benefits of Acai

Acai berries have had a huge influence in my weight loss and have helped thousands of others as well. While exercise is the key factor in all weight loss regiments, it is important to make sure you remain healthy during the process. One of the crucial elements in maintaining a high level of health is ensuring your body has enough antioxidants. Antioxidants prevent your body’s cells from damage caused by free radicals – a process known as oxidation. Burning fat has been shown to cause oxidation and so an antioxidant product is necessary for any weight-loss routine.
A groundbreaking study by AG Schauss, published in the US National Library of Medicine, has shown that Acai berries have the highest level of antioxidants, reported to date, of any food in the world! Acai berries, a small, dark blue fruit native to the Amazon, have been used for centuries as a natural cure to many health-related issues, but have only recently become commercially available.
Further studies, conducted by Texas A&M University, have shown that the antioxidants found in acai berries are easily absorbed by the human body. In the study, 12 volunteers were given a serving of acai pulp and juice. When samples were taken both 12 and 24 hours after consuming the acai berries, the results "showed significant increases in antioxidant activity in the blood."
With studies proving the health benefits of antioxidants, the high quantity of them in acai berries, and the ability of the human body to absorb them, it's no wonder that acai products have become a successful part of many diets and weight loss routines.
One of the best Acai berry products I’ve found is AcaiSlim Plus. As you can see on their home page, the antioxidant content (measured by the FDA as an ORAC score) of the acai berry product is 167, while the blueberry (which is the next closest) is only 32! Considering they are currently offering a limited time free trial, I would highly recommend AcaiSlim Plus!
